- Operation and control
- Operate mowing and other gardening equipment.
- Ensure equipment is signed out for and returned to the store daily.
- Hand in, after inspections, a weekly report on equipment.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of gardens and terrain within working hours.
- Follow the daily program schedule or as instructed by the line manager.
- Complete schedule according to UE standard operating procedures and protocol set.
- Load general/ garden refuse.
- Pick litter, service refuse bins etc.
- Report any breakages, lost or ineffective equipment to management.
- Report any work-related concerns to the line manager.
- Assist in ensuring the Observatory is kept neat and clean.
- Internal Reporting
- Report to supervisor.
- Sign off maintenance program and checklist.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure all grounds/terrain are maintained within accordance with standard procedures and specifications.
- Ensure cleaning of equipment and workspace.
- Ensure safe working procedure with equipment.
- Comply with health and safety standards.
- Comply with PPE clothing.
- Upkeep of equipment – ensure all equipment is within health and safety standards.
- Grade 10 on NQF level 2.
- Machine operating certificate.
- Minimum of two (2) year’s relevant experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to utilize all relevant equipment correctly.
- Services sheet completion (writing and reading).

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R103 437.86 – R181 280.51 per annum depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
