The primary focus of this role is to provide technical support for all AV/IT technology in learning, meeting and event spaces across the University and TAFE divisions, in particular:
- this position configures, supports, and maintains educational technology and control systems in accordance with Swinburne standards and procedures.
- recommends technology replacement for all campuses, including preparation of RFQ’s and specification of room refreshes
- arranging consumable purchases, service calls and negotiation of vendor on-site support
- contributes to specifications for required upgrades of learning spaces and/or new building projects
- provides live, hybrid and virtual event management and support for both internal and external customers.

The Audiovisual Team is a member of the Digital Workplace Experience function, focusing on the delivery of day to day support and service to staff and students. The team works collaboratively across the IT function, partnering with other teams in the provision of a high quality, responsive and seamless service, and works to continuously improve services.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience in fault-finding and maintenance of a broad range of audiovisual systems.
- Extensive experience in the management and support of live and hybrid streaming events.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with excellent stakeholder relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from technical, non-technical and management backgrounds.
- Demonstrable customer focus bias with a track record for delivering service improvements.
- A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, to prioritise own work flow, and to establish clear priorities from multiple demands.
Qualifications
- A relevant technical degree with subsequent relevant experience; or experience in an AV technical field.
