Fast Food Outlet Cashier [United Arab Emirates]


 

Position Summary: The Fast Food Outlet Cashier is responsible for processing customer orders, handling cash transactions, and providing excellent customer service. The cashier plays a vital role in ensuring efficient operations, accurate order taking, and maintaining a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Assist customers in selecting menu items and provide information about special promotions or deals.
  • Accurately and efficiently process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in taking food items, quantities, and any special requests.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Order Processing and Cash Handling:

  • Operate the cash register and POS system to process orders and cash transactions accurately.
  • Receive payments from customers, count money, and provide correct change.
  • Ensure the accuracy of cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Process credit card transactions and follow proper procedures for card authorization.

Food Preparation and Serving:

  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders.
  • Assemble food items accurately according to customer requests and quality standards.
  • Package food orders for takeout and ensure they are complete and presented neatly.
  • Serve food orders to customers at the counter or through drive-thru windows.

Cleanliness and Organization:

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness at the cashier counter, including wiping surfaces, organizing condiments, and restocking supplies.
  • Ensure work area and dining area are clean and presentable for customers.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handwashing and wearing appropriate gloves.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cleanliness, uniform, and personal hygiene.

Teamwork and Communication:

  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff, managers, and fellow cashiers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to relay customer orders, special requests, and changes.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues to handle busy periods and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is preferred.
  • Strong numerical and math skills for accurate order processing and cash handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in taking orders and handling cash.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
