We are looking to fill a new role in our group, that of Electrical Estimator.
We are a well-established company with work across all sectors of the electrical industry, both domestically and internationally. We are undergoing a period of growth and are looking to hire an experienced Electrical Estimator who will be given the opportunity to establish practices and be part of developing our estimating department within our group, primarily serving the needs of our international and domestic electrical installation businesses.
Here in Ireland, we work across all sectors, and across a large range of contract sizes. The candidate will be involved in tendering process of large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
Internationally we work across a number of sectors also. At the moment much of our work is in the food and beverage container production and handling industry. Duties here would include tendering of large-scale industrial projects which may from time to time involve travelling abroad during the tendering process.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel with the opportunity to see many countries throughout the world, must have a clean driving licence and must be flexible and capable of working as part of a team.
Location: Based in Cork with travel as required within Ireland and to Foreign Worldwide Contracts
Main duties:
- Receiving and analysing Tender packages including Tender Drawings, Specifications, Schedules
- Measuring and Quantifying Electrical Materials off Tender Drawings
- Determining the Amount, Type and Cost of materials required for each Electrical Tender
- Determining the amount of labour required for each Electrical Tender
- Liaising with Wholesalers & Sub Contractors on quotations and submittals
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements
- Determining the Potential Profitability of Electrical Projects to assist management in making sound decisions
- Providing viable solutions to increase profitability
- Completing and Submitting Tender Bids in accordance with established guidelines
- Create, Update & Maintain Cost Databases to accurately reflect fluctuating Materials & Labour Costs
- Evaluating material & Labour Costs to determine if more feasible to construct Electrical Components or Sub-contract the Works.
