The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support the research team in the management, analysis, and reporting of datasets varying in size, complexity, and scope. The Research Data Analyst will work closely with other research team members to support the conduct of research studies and coinciding clinical trials. The Research Data Analyst may also be responsible for liaising with external collaborative groups independently of the PI to present research updates and facilitate research with external collaborators.
Duties and Responsibilities

Data management including data cataloging and quality control.Managing large datasets including the archiving and preprocessing of neuroimaging data and to prepare data for analyses.
Analyzing data using a variety of statistical techniques using specialized image analysis software packages.
Presenting and summarizing analyses in various formats including raw output, tables, and graphics, oral and written reports. This includes internal presentations within the group as well as external communications to collaborators across institutions.
Essential Job Functions
Multi-level analysis of longitudinal, cross-sectional, and clustered neuroimaging data.
Analysis of data using a variety of statistical techniques including linear regression, mixed effects models, principal component analysis, non-parametric approaches, and others if needed.
Data management, which includes, but is not limited to, capturing, cleaning, and quality control checks for new and existing studies.
Merging data, creating, and recoding variables to prepare data for analyses.
Support the implementation and maintenance of data storage servers and data entry systems
All other responsibilities as assigned.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities
Proficiency in Matlab, Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM), Prism statistical analysis software packages as well as Microsoft Office software required.
Programming skills in additional software packages (STATA, R, python, etc.) desirable but not required.
Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills required.
Candidate must be detail oriented and able to work independently on assigned tasks.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. The qualified candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate on a professional level, act appropriately and effectively with all levels of staff, exercise good judgment. Maintains utmost confidentiality.
Technical qualifications or specialized certifications

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related discipline
Three years related experience
Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in neuroscience or statistics.
Two years of professional experience as a data analyst or similar quantitative position.
Highly specialized advanced knowledge, education and/or training in a specialized field of study to conduct research.
